I thought the short "Kisses from Paris" was very sweet. It was very simple yet powerful because of that. The dialogue was all very important although brief. The variety of shots with just the boy and girl kissing were all very interesting and romantic, especially the part with them dancing at the end. I felt as though this short could have been a bit longer but maybe that was the point, that it leaves you wanting more just as the people in the story miss each other and want more time together. All in all I thought the actors were great, and the short was very sweet and heart warming.

Although it was only 3 minutes, you could still feel the love connection between the two characters, without much dialogue, which was impressive. I thought all together though there was no story or anything that made you want to keep watching after a while. It was a bunch of kissing for an entire minute, which the cinematography was cool and interesting, but again it is just two people kissing. Maybe that was the point of the short, that the world around them seemed distant whenever they were together. I really enjoyed in the beginning, when the two characters are sitting at a table and music is playing in the background. When the boy takes out his earphones, it sounds like you were wearing those headphones and the music was slowly lowering. That must have been a complicated sound edit, but it was really cool. Also, I really enjoyed the lights in the scene where they are kissing at a nightclub. I thought the purple and blue lights on their faces were done very nice. There would also be occasional circles of light, which added more to the romantic factor in a sense that they were in their own world, detached from everyone and everything around them. Overall I thought it was interesting and done well.

I was very moved by this short. Main reason was because it was short and straight to the point. My first thought was of my girlfriend and I. The love in Paris is very comforting and if anybody has ever been in true love before, then they would understand the feelings that these two have between each other.

I was delighted to see the inspiration from French New Wave. It only makes sense to make a film with this style while in France.

    Overall, great short.

The film was very simple including the dialogue and shots. The dialogue was brief and simple; like one sentence lines. I believe this made the most sense for the film. Most of the shots were landscapes, locations, and scenery’s of Paris. Some of my favorite shots were at the outdoor concert, them dancing, and the varies shots in different locations of them kissing. This gave the film a more romantic feeling, which the director was probably aiming at. However, I don’t know what the true story or message is, that I am taking away from this film. Altogether, this was a good short and an idea that could be made into something bigger.

Kisses from Paris was a pretty short romantic film. It features a guy and a girl (presumably in love) doing romantic things such as taking pictures of each other and kissing each other all over Paris. That was the extent of it as far as plot and story is concerned. The visuals were interesting, filmingdifferent places from around Paris, and the cinematography was very active.

There were numerous points where the cinematography was interesting such as one point where the picture begins out of focus and then comes into focus, some excellent uses of low-key lighting, and some points where they used a hand-camera. The music was quiet and romantic. Overall, it was not a bad short film.

"Kisses from Paris" was a nice short and sweet romantic piece. The main theme of this short was young love and romance which was executed very well. I guess this short was to showcase the song that was being played through out. I liked how they started the short with the song as if we were hearing it in the guy's headphones and when he took them out the music was dimmed and didn't play as he paused it, that was a very nice touch to the short.

The camera angles were by far the best part of this short. The short was a story being told through images and the different shots and angles of the camera reflected the romantic relationship between the two lovers. My favorite scene was when the two were eating and we were looking at them through a window and the divider of the window divided the two characters, that was really nice. Also, the production crew managed to capture all the beauty and essence of Paris through the camera lens. The one thing I did not care for was the kissing. It was too much kissing for me even though the name is "Kisses of Paris." I feel they could have effectively emphasized kissing using one or two main kissing scenes, not all of them which annoys me a little bit. But overall, it was a nice cute piece.

At the risk of sounding overly critical, this piece seemed like something that's been done millions of times before. Two lovers in Paris is one of the biggest cliches in storytelling, and the rather stilted and flaccid dialogue didn't help this particular short stand out. While the cinematography was comprised of almost entirely interesting shots, they didn't feel like they related to the theme of the story, or perhaps the dialogue and action failed to properly convey the message that the cinematography was meant for. Either way, the entire film felt pointless. I could see this being a sequence in a longer film with a more interesting story, but as a standalone piece, I am thankful it was not any longer than it was.

As a romantic piece, it was pretty sweet, though. Its lack of substance and smooth, almost dreamlike transitions played well into the overall atmosphere. All in all, I can definitely see why people would enjoy this a great deal, but the lack of any greater direction in the short made me feel like it didn't really matter in the end.

So filmed each other all over paris then kissed each other all over paris. Great B roll of the locals. I'm sure this is every late teen to early 20's experience in a post modern era france. I'm glad it wasn't any longer than this and I'm glad they resisted the urge to spend the first minute kissing and spent it doing something else even if it was walking around with their phones.

The only difference between this one and most romance in paris shorts is I didnt have a sense of them wanting to go find specific places to make out. they just did it everywhere.

  9. Rebecca Bynum: "kisses from paris" was a very short film. the short itself was not my taste. I'm not a fan of romantic films and kisses from paris was just that. I thought the scenes of them kissing was boring. The film itself was three minutes long and there was at least a minute of random kissing. That being said, I thought the sense of romanticism between the boy and the girl was real, it had a powerful attraction between them. Overall not my favorite short but it was done very well.
